PAW 2019 Student Photo Contest

People Around the World (PAW) 2019 is a two-day public conference bringing together a diverse range of expertise to collaboratively discuss and examine the delicate interdependencies of human civilization and nature.

Students are invited to submit an abstract to accompany their digital photographs. The theme of this year’s photo competition is people, food and the planet. Photographs entered in the competition will be displayed during PAW 2019 on March 13, 2019. A panel of judges will determine winners for first, second and third prizes awarded will have a cash value of:

First prize: $300 CDN
Second prize: $200 CDN
Third prize: $100 CDN 

GUIDELINES

1. Submissions can be either a collection of three photos, each one representing people, food and the planet OR as an individual photo incorporating one or all of these themes.

2. Each submission must have an accompanying abstract and a caption of the photo(s).

3. Abstracts should not exceed 50 words in length, including a one sentence caption.

4. Photo presenters are welcome to register for the conference; you can register on the PAW 2019 website here.

5. Submissions will be previewed for applicability of people, food and the planet themes.

6. Submissions will be made available for viewing during the PAW 2019 conference.

7. Submissions must include a complete and signed USask Photography Release Form.

8. Photo submission content:

      a) Photos submitted must be in digital format.
      b) Submissions must include an abstract not exceeding 50 words in length.
      c) A title caption and the presenter’s contact details, including affiliation(s), should be submitted with the written abstract.
      d) Text is to be typed — single-line spacing with Times New Roman, 12 point font.
